Hospitality

Parent volunteers help keep their student performers energetic and ready to go by providing lunches, snacks, drinks, and other items at different activities. These include:

  • Band camp lunches - Every summer, the two-week band camp includes several days that span the lunch hour; parents volunteer to set up and distribute meals on those days.

  • Little big game breakfast and lunch - The annual "Little Big Game" against our traditional rival San Mateo High School takes place on Saturdays around mid-day. Getting ready to perform, including a halftime show, is an all-morning effort, and the game runs until mid-afternoon. Parent volunteers staff a morning breakfast session and a noon lunch session at this event.

  • Bake sales at concerts - A small but important source of funds every year is the income from concerts, including ticket sales and bake sales at the concerts. Parent volunteers bring home-baked goods and staff tables to manage these activities.
